  1. The French always want to defend their culture, obviously it's a good fact for many occasions, but in this case I think it's to much. Today the world is in English and it's a good thing that we are used to use these English vocabulary. Now I'm living in the US I have noted that the American use many words in French too. The language are mixed, because the people are mixed too, it's not a big deal! In contrary it's a richness.

  2. I disagree this French imposition. because it does not work on any way. the exchange of word and expressions are natural process.moreover, this process is encourage by globalization. one person say a word then another person say the same word and this word is spread in everywhere.you do not force people to say that word. For example,Spanish speaker usually say OK,standard and other words from English and American speaker usually say burro,siesta,etc..

  3. Just based on the information from this video, it seems a little ridiculous that the French impose a ban on popular English expressions. However, except the CNN video, I do not know any background or context about this “war”. Maybe the French have some specific reasons to ban these English expressions. Actually, I can partially understand this ban. It’s like the nature of the human being. Similarly, US and UK refuse to use the international system of units which happens to come from the French. We know that sometimes unit conversion is not very convenient, especially in science. In addition, a word borrowed from another language sometimes is not very easy to understand. Some necessary translations may help people better use the word.
